BSNL 4G: On one hand, where Indian Airtel and Jio are insisting on the expansion of 5G towers across the country, on the other hand, BSNL is working on 4G connectivity. Actually, till now BSNL has not been able to launch its 4G network. The company is working in different states to install its 4G network. Recently BSNL started a pilot program in Punjab. Till now BSNL has installed its 135 towers. Work on other 75 towers is still going on.
After all the towers are installed, the company will test them for three months, after which BSNL will speed up the work on 4G network. Railway, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told that once the pilot program is over, work on BSNL towers will start across the country and more than 200 towers will be installed every day. Along with this, he said that by August, 4G network can be launched in the country.
When will 5G be launched?
The Railway Minister told that BSNL’s 4G network will be used for the rollout of 5G network. Telecom operator will issue a software update after which people will start getting 5G service.
Airtel 5G reached in more than 300 cities
Indian Airtel has rolled out its 5G network in more than 300 cities. The company is also giving the benefit of unlimited 5G data to its prepaid and postpaid users with select plans. Here, Reliance Jio has also started its 5G network in many states. There are only two telecom operators in the country who have launched their 5G network. Vodafone-Idea has also not been able to rollout its 5G network yet due to the budget.
